Universities Allied for Essential Medicines at Columbia University
Who we are
We are the Columbia University chapter of
Universities Allied for Essential Medicines,
an advocacy group that seeks to improve global health by influencing university policies nationwide.
Our primary goals are to ameliorate the research and access gaps that prevent drugs from being developed
for and reaching the poor.
Support our efforts
We are working through the Columbia University Senate to urge the university to make two chages:
(1) adopt equitable access licensing policies in patent negotiations with pharmaceutical companies, and
(2) increase research in neglected diseases. The easiest way to support this work is to
sign the Philadelphia Consensus Statement.
