The Center for Archaeology offers a variety of events throughout the spring and fall semesters. Formal lectures are imparted by Columbia faculty members as well as invited lecturers from other universities and institutions. Tea and coffee discussions provide a more informal setting for graduate and undergraduate students and faculty members to present their research projects in process. The New York Archaeological Consortium gives the opportunity to students and faculty of Columbia and other institutions of New Work to present their summer fieldwork and research projects. Every year the graduate students organize The Graduate Students Conference inviting distinguished lecturers and giving the students the opportunity to present their work in a formal manner. The Center for Archaeology also offers a variety of workshops imparted by specialists on topics such as textile, GIS and pottery.
All events are free and open to the public.
