Megan O'Neil received her Ph.D. at Yale and has taught at the University of Southern California, the College of William and Mary, and Manhattan Community College. Her Pre-Columbian scholarship, represented in her book Engaging Ancient Maya Sculpture at Piedras Negras, Guatemala, adds a new dimension to the spectrum of art historical fields currently represented on the Barnard-Columbia campus. Her courses include a lecture course open to undergraduates and graduates, "Mesoamerican Art and Architecture," and an undergraduate seminar, "Myth, Ritual, and Worship in Mesoamerican Art and Architecture."
