Strother Receives Sylvan and Pamela Coleman Memorial Fellowship

Z. S. Strother received the Sylvan and Pamela Coleman Memorial Fellowship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a Collaborative Research Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies to support academic leave, 2009-10. She will be writing a book called “Iconoclasm in Africa” with Elisabeth Cameron from UC-Santa Cruz.

Branden Joseph Wins Art Writers Grant

In February 2009 Branden Joseph was awarded a Creative Capital / Warhol Foundation Art Writers Grant.

Schama's The American Future: A History Receives BPG Award

Simon Schama's The American Future: A History, a four part series made for BBC received the Broadcasting Press Guild award for Best Documentary Series in 2008. One of the episodes "American War" has been nominated for the Royal Television Society award also for best factual documentary of the year.
