Joyce Carol Oates is the author of over fifty novels, essays, plays, collections of poetry, children's books and works of young adult fiction. She has been nominated for one PEN/Faulkner award, five National Book Awards, three National Book Critics Circle Awards, and two Pulitzer Prizes for the novels Black Water (1993) and Blonde (2001). She is the 1969 recipient of the National Book Award for the novel them. She teaches at Princeton University.
