GREGORY AMENOFF

Gregory Amenoff received an M.A. from Beloit College and an honorary doctorate of fine art from the Massachusetts College of Art. He has received three National Endowment for the Arts awards, a Louis B. Comfort Tiffany Foundation grant, and, in 2001, was nominated for the presidency of the National Academy of Design. He has shown widely in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. His recent solo exhibitions include Galerie Vidal St. Phalle, Paris; Stephen Wirtz Gallery, San Francisco; Nielsen Gallery, Boston; and Salander O'Reilly Gallery, New York. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, among others. A monograph of a selected group of paintings entitled The Sky Below was published in 1997 by Hard Press. He has taught at Yale University, Rhode Island School of Design, and in the Graduate Program of the School of Visual Arts and has lectured at some 100 colleges and universities across the United States.
