We had $1 domestic drafts at
Roadhouse and $2 well drinks at Mona (both at

April 24-30, 2005:
Bacchanal 2005
Bacchanal is Columbia's spring festival, held at
the end of April. The festival lasts for an entire week, and
features a variety of exciting events that are open to the
entire Columbia community. It is a celebration of the end of the
academic year, the coming of spring, and the ideals of the Roman
god Bacchus.
Bacchanal
2005 ran from Sunday, April 24 to Friday, April 29.
Bacchanal T-shirts were sold throughout the week.
Sunday was the kick-off BBQ, with great food and
music. That night was Comedy Night, with professional comedians.
Tuesday was Movie Night but unfortunately was canceled
due to rain.
Wednesday was night games but was also canceled
because of rain.
Thursday, was Chilling on the Steps, with music,
contests, and a pizza-eating contest. That night was Bacchanal's signature party:
Debauchery Party! A night full of free snacks, and tons of drinks such as wine and beer.
The theme was a toga party, and rocked late into the night!
Friday was the Olympic Games and Carnival, with arcade
and other games, fun contests (with prizes), free food such as hot dogs,
pretzels, cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn, live music, and
an all-around awesome time! Food will include hot dogs,
pretzels, cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn.
Saturday was The Concert, with feature hip-hop
headliners Common and Busdriver--it rained but that didn't stop the
party!
See you all next year!

you want to be anywhere else except a CSE party? From 10pm until

a run-up to our biggest event, Bacchanal!

October 1, 2004:
CSE Homecoming Party
For the 2004 Homecoming Weekend, CSE did two awesome things:
1. We made up the wackiest T-shirts, like we always do, for the
game against Princeton
(results of the game here) and sold
them (for the low price of $5) like crazy at Low Plaza and at the game.
This is what the
front
and
back
look like.
2. We threw an awesome homecoming party in the back of Roone
Alredge Auditorium the night before the game. Admission was free,
of course, and two ID's needed for a wristband to drink. There was
free red and white wine, and a selection of four different types of
beer. There was also sodas, bottled water, and food. The DJ
kept the party rocking for three fun hours!
Here
is a picture of us setting up, and
here is a picture from the party. If you went, we hope
you had a great time, and if you didn't, come to our next one!

April 27, 2004: Ben Stein Hosts
Battle of the Schools
Ben Stein hosted the first and only
battle of the schools quiz show for Bacchanal 250. The four
schools of Columbia University (Columbia College, Barnard, General
Studies, and School of Engineering and Applied Science) competed for the
prestige and cash awarded to the "Last School Standing". Although
marred by technical difficulties (the buzzers went off uncontrollably)
the event was a smashing success. The winning school was Columbia
College, whose team took home $1,000! Barnard College was in
second place, winning $500, and the Fu Foundation School of Engineering
and Applied Science took third place, winning $250.
