The "Indians and Indians" program on November 11 displayed aspects of both Eastern Indian culture as well as Native American Indian culture. With live bhajan and kirtan musical performances and a mehendi table which attracted more than 20 students within an hour, the program was a hit! Check out the pics...

Testimonials

"The Bhakti Club is a refreshing moment for our student's minds, it allows us to push our thoughts further in the exploration of our self and our relationship with others, by the means of friendly gatherings and discussions among a very diverse group representing different ages, cultural or educational backgrounds".

- Taos Aliouat, France

"I first heard about the Bhakti Club when I saw a flier on campus and was immediately attracted to the program and the idea of students gathering to learn vegetarian cooking and eat together. When I went to the vegetarian class, I was impressed by the sweet atmosphere of so many students interested in vegetarianism, whether for spiritual or purely health-conscious reasons. The demonstrations were always easy to follow, the feasts always delightful and fully satisfying, and the camaraderie among the students was inspirational and without ulterior motives.

"I thoroughly enjoyed the discussions of Bhagavad Gita. Instead of another lecture, the round-table format gives everyone an equal chance to ask questions or make comments, as everyone explores this sublime literature together. The conversations are lively and often profound, inspired by the text itself rather than someone's concocted interpretation of it, and thus true to its essence. Yet the informal and friendly setting of the discussion (after a nice vegetarian meal) means that people can dive as deep into the subject as they want, even if merely to learn a different point of view.

"One program was particularly exciting. Last spring, His Holiness Radhanath Swami Maharaja, a well-known preacher in the Bhakti Yoga tradition spoke on the intimate relationship between spirituality and vegetarianism, giving examples from his own life and realizations along with so many captivating stories from scriptures to make his point. So many people attended and both students and guests from outside the university walked away satisfied, carrying different conversations long after the program ended. Programs like these are attractive to different groups for various motives, and provide a great opportunity to associate with wonderful people and discuss fascinating topics."
