If a nucleotide = sugar + base (no phosphate), then why are ADP/ATP called nucleoSides on your handout?
A nucleoSide has a sugar + base (no phosphate). A nucleoTide has a sugar + base + 1 or more phosphates. A nucleoTide can also be called a nucleoSide mono (or di or tri) phosphate. ADP and ATP are nucleosides plus 2 or 3 phosphates. So they are called nucleoside di (or tri) phosphates OR nucleotides.
