C3032: Grading of Individual Tests

The letter grades for each test are assigned based on the mean and the standard deviation. The following is a table that illustrates how letter grades are assigned to numerical grades:

    At least 1.33 standard deviations above the mean

A

    Between 1 (inclusive) and 1.33 (exclusive) standard deviations above the mean

A-

    Between 0.67 (inclusive) and 1 (exclusive) standard deviations above the mean

B+

    Between 0.33 (inclusive) and 0.67 (exclusive) standard deviations above the mean

B

    Between 0 (inclusive) and 0.33 (exclusive) standard deviations above the mean

B-

    Between 0.33 (inclusive) and 0 (exclusive) standard deviations below the mean

C+

    Between 0.67 (inclusive) and 0.33 (exclusive) standard deviations below the mean

C

    Between 1 (inclusive) and 0.67 (exclusive) standard deviations below the mean

C-

    Between 2 (inclusive) and 1 (exclusive) standard deviations below the mean

D

    At least 2 standard deviations below the mean
