JOURNALS:

The major journal for transmission genetics is Genetics. Each issue lists articles by organism (viruses to humans to populations) and usually contains one "Perspectives" article (these are usually historical notes). Genetics articles can also be found in Science, Nature, Cell, EMBO Journal, Molecular and General Genetics, Wilhelm Roux's Archives of Developmental Biology, and Nature Genetics. The best introduction to the various topics in genetics is found in various review journals including Annual Review of Genetics, Trends in Genetics, and Current Opinion in Genetics and Development (and Minireviews and News-and-Views articles in Cell, etc.).
