W3040x - Project Lab in Cell & Developmental Biology

Project Lab in Developmental Biology 5 pts. Prerequisite: 1 year of biology (C2005-C2006). The Fall 2006 project involves the characterization of the T-box transcription factors that are integral in driving zebrafish GATA-4 expression in the heart. Topics covered include heart development (wild type, malformations and GFP reporter fish), sequence analysis, molecular biology (PCR, sub-cloning, etc.), cell culture (maintenance and transfections) and promoter analysis (binding site analysis, mutational analysis, and luciferase assays). Fee $150
