Arun Wiita is currently a 6th year student in the M.D.-Ph.D. program at Columbia. After spending two years at the Health Sciences campus enrolled in the College of Physicians and Surgeons, in July 2004 he joined the Graduate Program in Neurobiology & Behavior. He then migrated "downtown" to Morningside Heights to conduct his Ph.D. research in the Fernandez laboratory. His work has concentrated on studying the effect of force on the reduction of single disulfide bonds in proteins. Arun graduated from Princeton University in 2002 with an A.B. in Chemistry and a certificate in Financial Economics. His undergraduate thesis work in the lab of George McLendon involved organic chemistry and biochemistry.
