In 2001 I graduated from "
Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile" (PUC) with the degree of "Licenciado en Física" which is similar to a B.A. in Physics in the United States. Working at the
Nanotechnology Group headed by Professor Dr. Guido Tarrach, my thesis project was the construction of an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) for imaging and simultaneous optical analysis. I also worked in the analysis of Barium Titanate, using Polarized Optical Microscopy, Raman Micro-Spectroscopy, and Piezo-response Force Microscopy (PFM).
Then I continued my work with Dr. Tarrach initiating graduated studies at PUC where in 2003 I got the degree of "Magister Ciencias Exactas con mención en Física" (M.S. in Physics). My research focused in the analysis of thin layers of Ferroelectric Materials using the PFM technique on the AFM constructed during my undergrad studies.
Currently I am a Ph.D. student at Columbia University. While enroled in Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics in the School of Engineering and Applied Science I am working at Biological Sciences with Professor Dr. Julio Fernández in the analysis of Protein Kinetics and mechanical properties trough single molecule force spectroscopy using AFM.

No longer actualized but still online I also have a Home Page at PUC (In Spanish).
