 | I graduated from MIT in June 2005 from the Brain & Cognitive Sciences department with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. As an undergraduate, I worked in the Behavioral Neuroscience Lab where I created visual stimuli for an fMRI experiment. I also worked with Michale Fee, whose lab seeks to understand the neural circuitry underlying complex sequential behaviors. During the summers, I worked in the Artificial Heart Program at Penn State and also in a laboratory focused on the molecular pathways of neurodegeneration involving lipids.
After graduation, I learned the basics of electrophysiology while studying the retinogeniculate synapse with William Guido at LSU Health Sciences Center. Shortly thereafter, Hurricane Katrina forced my relocation to Columbia University, where I was fortunate to find employment in the Yuste laboratory. |
