Hi,
my name is Chen Chen. You can call me Double Chen ^^. I grew up in Beijing,
China, where I graduated from Tsinghua University with a Bachelor degree in
biological science. I spent a year in Dr. Yigong Shi's lab studying the
structure and function of macromolecules through crystallography and
biochemical approach. Last summer, I joined Tsinghua team to participate in the
iGEM (international Genetic Engineering Machine) competition and started to
know about system biology. We worked in a microbiology lab to generate an
E.coli strain which can transport signal protein
along a gradient back and forth. Now my research interest lies in
neurobiology and system biology. Also, a chance to explore more structural
biology and quantitative methods will be great.
In
my spare time, I like watching movies, doing some yoga and cooking. When I get
chance, I enjoy travelling and taking photograph. Open-minded, straight-forward
and detail-oriented would be best three words to describe me. I'm looking
forward to get to know all of you!
