 | I graduated from Boston College in 2005 with a B.S. in biology and a minor in theology. During my undergraduate studies, I worked in a laboratory under Professor Thomas N. Seyfried. I stayed at Boston College under Dr. Seyfried for an additional year and graduated in May 2006 with a M.S. in biology with a neuroscience concentration. My undergraduate project was focused on lysosomal storage diseases, specifically Sandhoff disease. We used combinatorial therapies aimed at diminishing the disease phenotype. I also studied retinal function in lipid storage disease models, and brain lipid patterns in a murine model of Huntington Disease (HD) and in human patients with HD.
My interest still lies in neuroscience; however, I am now interested in learning and memory. I would specifically like to study synaptic transmission and/or neurogenesis in the hippocampus.
Before living in Boston for the past five years, I grew up in Lyndhurst, NJ, which is very close to the city and Giants Stadium. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing golf and tennis, and shopping.
