 | I have lived in NY most of my life, though most of it was upstate. During my time at Cornell I did work on the canine parvovirus at the Baker Institute of animal health. After that I went onto Roswell Park Cancer Institute to study molecular biology of the TIMP genes. My worked involved small animal studies using small animal and molecular techniques. From there I earned my masters degree and went directly to medical school at the State University of NY. During medical school I did pediatrics research using continuous glucose sensing on pre-diabetic children and presented my work at the Pediatric academic societies meeting in San Francisco. After graduating med school with my MD degree I when on to residency where I did a case study on scleroderma that we published in nature reviews rheumatology.
Currently I live in Riverdale and really enjoy it here. I am excited about exploring the city and hope that my experiences so far can help enrich the Columbia experience. For fun I enjoy going out to clubs, hanging out with my wonderful girlfriend, meeting new people, traveling to other countries and reading. I get pleasure from helping people and respect the privilege of being able to contribute to science and medicine. My area of interest is applied basic sciences with a clinical focus. At present I have a diverse interest in applied biology and won’t say I am set on one particular area. I look forward to rotating through various labs to find my niche. As can be said of my other colleagues in this program, I am highly motivated and a diligent worker. I hope to continue to develop my academic mind and contribute to the community over the years to come. |
