Jing-Ping Hsin
Graduate Student
I am from Taiwan. As an undergraduate, I studied biology and education at National Changhua University of Education. After getting my bachelor degree, I continued graduate study at National Yang Ming University. My thesis at graduate school was “Studies of the p53 regulated gene, DDA3.” Later, I worked at Academia Sinica as a research assistant for about three years. My research topics were “using microarray to study the gene expression pattern of mouse embryo” and “investigating the influences of apoptotic genes over heart development in zebra fish.” At Columbia, I think I will focus on developmental biology.

When I have free time, I usually go swimming, practice Takwandow, and do some outdoor activities such as mountain hiking. I also like reading and listening to music. Classical music is my favorite.
