I am Mo Chen from Beijing, China. During the last 22 years, I have always been living in Beijing. My research interests focus on cancer research. During my undergraduate study, we studied the function and the structure of a transcription factor called Nanog, which is specifically expressed in pluripotent cells. In this period of time, I felt that signal transduction pathways involving these transcription factors are crucial for many biological processes. In the future, I wish to study signal transduction pathways important to certain diseases in Columbia University.
As for my hobbies, I like sports such as swimming and table tennis. I also like listening to music, both classical and pop music. Sometimes it is really relaxing to listen to music while working or studying. After my graduation, I might consider doing postdoc for a few years and then stay in an institute to continue doing research. This seems to be the most attracting option for me now.
