Live Animal Safety Training

All individuals that will come in contact with live animals must receive training beyond the one day SURF safety orientation. Those of you working in monkey or frog labs, please make sure that you get training in the lab.

Those of you that will be working with rodents must complete a nurse’s examination and a two day training at the uptown campus before coming in contact with live animals. The nurse’s examination must be performed at the campus where the animals are housed. The complete list of instructions and accompanying forms are available at:

http://cumc.columbia.edu/dept/iacuc/index.html

For those of you with animals housed downtown, fill out the medical form and get your PI to sign it.
