Other Internships
Last year, about 200 students applied to SURF but only half of them could be accommodated in the program, so you may want to investigate some of the other research opportunities available around the country. Advantages provided by these other internships include the chance to spend the summer closer to home, or further from home, or working on the kinds of projects that are unavailable here at Columbia, such as marine biology. You can find out more about these programs by searching through the list of other internships. Deadlines for most of these are late January-early February, but a few are earlier.
