The primary goal of the Columbia Biotechnology Council is to draw together constituent organizations and their members from across the Columbia community interested in the different aspects of biotechnology to create critical mass for the promotion of biotechnology at Columbia University.

The Biotechnology Council links clubs and organizations from the Schools of Law, Business, Public Health, Medicine, and Journalism as well as doctoral students in a number of related disciplines. Member groups are invited to initiate as well as attend forums and networking events featuring professionals in the field from both Columbia and external organizations.
