Course Description This course will explore the fundamental principles and the process of drawing, equally. Students will acquire a working knowledge of formal, conceptual and philosophical issues related to the medium through class critiques, discussions and studio assignments. Studio assignments range from interrogating systems of perspective to negotiating the implications of observational drawing with modes of drawing that overtly explore subjectivity. Reading materials coupled with independent gallery/museum visits will provide a historical and philosophical context for assignments. No prior experience is necessary.
