Course Description This is a required science writing course for the PhD in Biological Sciences, open only to second year PhD. candidates in Biological Sciences. In this course, we will read examples of science writing from the recent literature, consider the strategies used by successful writers, and workshop student writing. The course will emphasize techniques for achieving clarity of thought and clear prose style while communicating science to other scientists. Students will write three short papers and two longer papers culminating in a Proposed Research Plan.
