Type LECTURE
Course Description Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor. BC1003x is designed to present fundamental concepts of chemistry and to help students develop strong chemical problem solving skills. The course will approach chemistry from both molecular and macroscopic perspectives. It is particularly appropriate for first-year students with weak backgrounds in chemistry and/or mathematical problem-solving (e.g., SAT Math ≤ 600) who have an interest in continuing into the CHEM BC2001x General Chemistry course, presumably leading to further scientific study at the College. CHEM BC1003xy emphasizes problem-solving skills, along with specially-selected fundamental chemical topics. The course does not count toward the laboratory science general education requirement. Permission of Instructor.
