Course Description | Prerequisites: ECON UN3211 and ECON UN3213 and STAT UN1201 An introduction to the economic principles, theories and basic tools underlying the financial decisions of firms. The topics covered include financial statement analysis, net present value analysis, time value of money, valuation of perpetuities and annuities, opportunity cost of capital, weighted average cost of capital, valuation of bonds and stocks, capital budgeting, dividend policy, market efficiency, capital structure, Modigliani-Miller theorem, option valuation and risk management. Every effort would be made to relate the course material to real-world financial applications. |
