Course Description Corporate finance entails how corporations design securities and create a capital structure (debt and equity) to most effectively raise capital for their operations. A detailed overview of corporate capital structures, bankruptcy and debt restructuring as the best example of the importance of the hierarchy of capital structure, and how corporations change their capital structure through M&A or leveraged buyout (LBO) transactions will be covered. The course will combine theory, actual examples from Wall Street transactions and guest speakers from the world of investment banking and private equity. The course will also discuss the current financial crisis and what it means for the future of these transactions."
