| Course Description | The principal objective of this course is to provide the student with the necessary knowledge base and skills needed to improve the health, independence, and quality of life of the older population. Students will broaden their ability to recognize abnormal findings within the context of aging and apply evidence-based geriatric rehabilitation principles to their assessments and treatment of older adults. A special emphasis will be placed on interpreting functional performance measures in order to manage balance deficits and falls in the aged, and prescribe targeted interventions for age-related syndromes and conditions. |
