Course Description Prerequisites: BC1001 and one of the following: BC1115, BC1119, or BIOL BC3280. Permission of the instructor is required. Enrollment limited to 20 students. Basic principles of the study of drugs that influence the neural systems and induce changes in behavior. Molecular, biochemical and behavioral characterization of psychotropic drugs: stimulants, sedative-hypnotics, anxiolytics, alcohol, hallucinogens, and opiates. Etiology and treatment of psychological and neurological disorders.
