Course Description Examines some central Mahayana Buddhist beliefs and practices through an in-depth study of the Lotus Sutra. Schools (Tiantai/Tendai, Nichiren) and cultic practices such as sutra-chanting, meditation, confessional rites, and Guanyin worship based on the scripture. East Asian art and literature inspired by it.
