Course Description Analysis of the contours, causes, and consequences of social inequality in the contemporary United States through systematic cross-national and historical comparisons.  Topics include the distribution of social and economic resources by class, race/ethnicity, and gender and the role of institutions such as families, schools, labor markets, and governments.
