Course Description In this course we will discuss the theory and practice of short fiction by the leading exponents of the genre in Spanish America. Authors to be discussed may include: Horacio Quiroga, Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortázar, Juan Rulfo, Jose Donoso, Rosario Castellanos, Augusto Monterroso, Rosario Ferre, Gabriel García Márquez, Angelica Gorodischer, Roberto Bolaño, and Andrea Maturana.
