By Car

Columbia is best reached by taking the 95th-96th Street exit off the Henry Hudson Parkway (West Side Highway). Use the 95th Street off-ramp. Continue north along Riverside Drive to 116th Street. Turn onto 116th and go straight to reach the campus gates. (see Campus Map for parking information).

To reach the Henry Hudson Parkway: From the north

1. Take the N.Y. Thruway (Route 87) to the Cross Bronx Expressway in the direction of the George Washington Bridge. Bear right as you approach the bridge; take exit for the Henry Hudson Parkway south.

2. The New England Thruway (1-95) becomes the Cross Bronx Expressway; follow the instructions above.

3. Take the Saw Mill Parkway south or Cross Country Parkway west to the Henry Hudson Parkway south and proceed as above.

From the east

Take the Grand Central Parkway or the Long Island Expressway west to the Cross Island Parkway north. Cross over the Throgs Neck Bridge to the Cross Bronx Expressway in the direction of the George Washington Bridge. Proceed as above.

From the south and west

Take the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) north or 1-80 east to the George Washington Bridge. Bear right as you proceed over the bridge to the Henry Hudson Parkway south.

By Train or Bus

Take trains or buses to New York's Grand Central Station, Penn Station or Port Authority Bus Temlinal and take a taxi, subway or bus to the Columbia campus at 116th Street and Broadway.

By Air

A taxi from LaGuardia Airport (the closest airport to campus) will cost approximately $20 - $25. From JFK Airport there is a flat fare of $35 plus tolls, and from Newark airport there is a flat fare ranging from $34 to $51, determined by zone, plus tolls. You can also take a bus to Port Authority Bus Terminal or Grand Central Station from those locations.

 

By Subway or City Bus

One subway line (No. 1) and four city bus lines (M4, M5, M11 and M104) serve the Columbia campus. If you take the 2 or 3 express subway trains, switch at 96th Street to the No. 1 local train. The Columbia stop is at 116th Street.
