The Columbia College Student Council is currently working on various policy initiatives that range from ways to improve daily life such as increasing the hours at JJs to larger issues such as improving our core curriculum or improved academic advising. Most of the policy work is done in several committees that tackle different areas. All committees are open to your ideas and suggestions, so please feel free to contact the appropriate committee chair. These committees include:
  • Policy Committee
  • Chair: Alidad Damooei, VP Policy

    The Policy Committee is in charge of overseeing all policy initiatives of CCSC and is the umbrella that brings together members of all the various policy subcommittees and class councils
  • Academic Affairs Subcommittee
  • Chair: Donna Desilus, Academic Affairs Representative

    All academic issues are considered in this committee including but not limited to the core curriculum.
  • Student Services Subcommittee
  • Chairs: Molly Conley & Brian Leung, Student Services Representatives

    Student Services is in charge of issues relating to dining, housing, and health services.
  • Preprofessional & Scholarships Subcommittee

    All issues relating to the center for career education, preproffesional advising, and scholarships are considered in this committee.
  • Committee on Manhattanville Expansion (CME)
  • Chair: Eric(Yihe) Wang, University Senator

    CME is charged with providing the student body with a variety of information on the proposed expansion into Manhattanville and creating forums for debate while also updating the Student Council on recent developments.
