Spring 2001 General Election

Referendum Results

1)BC/CU Housing Exchange

Currently the BC/CU housing exchange is based on the number of Barnard students who want to live at Columbia.  Should the BC/CU housing exchange be based on the number of applicants to the housing exchange from the school with the fewer number of applicants?  For instance, if 100 Barnard
students want to live at Columbia, but only 50 Columbia students want to live at Barnard, only 50 spaces would be made available for the exchange. All students of both schools will still be guaranteed housing and the same total number of rooms will be available, so no student, Barnard or
Columbia, will be without housing.

The CCSC would like your opinion on this proposal:

I agree                   65%
I disagree                11%
I do not have an opinion  18%

2)Barnard Point Value in the Columbia Housing Lottery

Every student entering the housing lottery is given a point value based on his/her school year.  Do you think that Barnard students entering the Columbia lottery should have equal point values or lesser point values than their Columbia counterparts?
