We are pleased to announce that Professors David Reichman and Laura Kaufman will be joining the department, arriving on August 4, and that Professor Brent Stockwell has accepted a joint appointment with the chemistry department and the department of biological sciences.
Professor Reichman's research focuses on the theoretical description of condensed phases, including disordered media such as glasses, proteins, and polymers. He is currently a Professor of Chemistry at Harvard University.
Professor Kaufman's primary research interests are in using molecular imaging techniques to understand the behavior of nanoscale structures. Currently a post-doctoral researcher in the chemistry department at Harvard University, she will be joining our faculty as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry.
Professor Stockwell's research uses chemical tools to define the interconnected signaling networks underlying cancer and neurodegeneration. He was formerly at the Institute for Biomedical Research, which is affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
