The chemistry department congratulates Professor Colin Nuckolls, who has received a 2008 Lenfest Distinguished Faculty Award. Established on a $12 million donation from trustee Gerry Lenfest (Law '58), the Lenfest awards recognize faculty who demonstrate unusual merit across a range of activities, including: scholarship, university citizenship, and professional involvement. The awards place an emphasis on the instruction and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. Honored faculty members receive annual awards of $25,000 for a three-year period. Three Columbia chemistry faculty have received Lenfest awards since its inception in 2005.
