Prof. Koji Nakanishi recently traveled to Japan to receive the Order of Culture, which is awarded by the Japanese government to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development and uplifting of culture in the areas of science, technology, and art.Usually bestowed on only five people annually (see photo), the award is presented to the recipients by the Emperor on November 3, Culture Day in Japan.
