Columbia Chemistry Professor Jonathan Owen has been
awarded a five-year research grant under the U.S. Department of Energy's Early
Career Research Program (ECRP).
The ECRP supports faculty in the early stages of their academic profession with funding for summer salary and research expenses of at least $150K per year for five years. To be eligible for an award, a candidate must be an untenured, tenure-track assistant professor at a U.S. academic institution or a full-time employee at a DOE national laboratory, who received a Ph.D. within the past ten years. This year's program honored just 69 researchers out of a pool of 1,750 applicants nationwide.
You can learn more about Professor Owen's research program on the group website.
