"Reactions of small molecules with main group compounds under ambient
conditions"
Presented by Philip Power, University of California, Davis
The
lecture will summarize the work of the author and his group in the
title area beginning with their discovery of the reaction of hydrogen
with a digermyne in 2005. Recent work involving the addition and
insertion reactions of cyclic and acyclic olefins with group 13 and
group 14 unsaturated, multiple bonded species and the observation of C-H
bond activation will also be a major theme of the presentation
