Two chemistry graduate students are the proud winners of 2012 Excellence in Chemistry Awards from Roche Laboratories. Alexandria Brucks, 3rd-year student in Professor Scott Snyder's Lab, and Jeffrey Bandar, 3rd-yr student in Professor Tristan Lambert's lab, received their awards at the Roche Symposium on May 23. This year, Roche honored just 12 outstanding PhD students nationwide (see figure above) "for research accomplishments in synthetic organic chemistry, bio-organic chemistry and computational chemistry." At the symposium, the awardees had opportunities to present their research projects and learn about Roche's work in the area of drug discovery.
