Using knowledge generated from our studies on collagen self-assembly, we have developed a method to prepare cell-compatible, pore size tunable collagen gels.

We also investigate how secondary extracellular matrix components affect cancer cell invasion in 3D. We develop sets of gels that allow us to differentiate the biochemical effects of the presence of the secondary components from the structural and/or mechanical effects.
