Dr. Wei Min graduated from Peking University (Beijing, China) with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 2003.  He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University in 2008, working on single-molecule biophysics under the supervision of Professor Sunney Xie in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. After that, he continued his postdoctoral work in Xie group, with his focus shifting to the development and application of novel optical spectroscopy and microscopy for bio-imaging.

Starting July of 2010, Dr. Min has become an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Columbia University.  In 2011, he joined Kavli Institute for Brain Science of Columbia University. Dr. Min's contribution has been recognized by a number of honors, including
