Bio in Brief
Anna Ghurbanyan graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Master of Science degree in chemistry. Throughout her career as a graduate student, she worked for SenesTech Inc., a biotechnology company focused on developing non-surgical spaying technology. Her research focused on developing a drug delivery protocol, the formulation of which is capable of delivering a single dose of a drug and will effectively cause depletion of ovarian follicles. She studied drug absorption and its elution profile into the physiological environment of the mouse model from timed-release delivery carriers such as polymeric nanoparticles and biodegradable microspheres. Anna Ghurbanyan has been teaching organic chemistry at Columbia University since the summer of 2008. She is also the instructor of Science Honors Program, a high-school program that introduces students to the principles of organic chemistry through lectures, demonstrations, laboratory experiments, and spectroscopic techniques.
