Thank you to all of our wonderful supporters!
Each year, Community Impact hosts an auction in order to support its work. At the event, Community Impact presents the Making a Difference award to a prominent person who has consistently given back to the community.
Provost Alan Brinkley, who has served as Columbia University’s twentieth provost for the past five years was honored with the seventh annual Making a Difference Award. During the night, we were also very excited to announce the new Community Impact Fellowship Program which was named in honor of George Van Amson, our esteemed CI Board member and CU Trustee Emeritus. In addition, we were pleased to name the first fellowship after Provost Brinkley for his significant work to strengthen Community Impact’s resources. The fellowship program that he has initiated will be his legacy, ensuring that Community Impact’s programming continues
to remain relevant for years to come.
Since 1981, dedicated Columbia students have made up the heart of Community Impact; the University’s largest student volunteer organization, with over 900 student volunteers today. Through their efforts, Community Impact annually provides exceptional service to 8,500 lower-income and homeless children, adults and families in Harlem, Washington Heights and Morningside Heights.
During this time of increased need in our communities, we hope you will join us in supporting this critical service work. To donate please click on the DONATE button above.
