Each year, Community Impact hosts an auction in order to support its work. This year the auction will be held on Thursday, April 3, at 6:00pm, at JP Morgan Chase, located at 277 Park Avenue, 17th floor, 47th Street. During the event, Community Impact presents the Making a Difference award to a prominent person who has consistently given back to the community. The 2008 honoree, Mr. Marc Mazur, is a graduate of Columbia College, Class of 1981. He is a Senior Advisor for Brevan Howard US Asset Management and is engaged in efforts to address critical urban economic and social challenges. After 12 years at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Mazur served as senior advisor to a number of domestic and international corporations with an emphasis on the healthcare and finance fields. He is active on a number of non-profit boards, targeting public health issues including suicide prevention among college students, drug abuse and inner city education.
