  • GED/ABE (High School Equivalency) volunteers assist adults from the community to achieve high school equivalency diplomas and move on to college and employment. Volunteers teach the subject areas of the GED/ABE exam: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science in a formal classroom setting. A curriculum and training are provided.
    (Monday thru Thursday, 3 day or evening hours per week at Earl Hall.)

  • Spanish GED volunteers help Spanish-speaking adults pass the high school equivalency exam in Spanish in a formal classroom setting. A curriculum and training are provided.
    (Monday thru Friday, 3 day or evening hours per week at Graham-Windham Beacon Center.)

  • ESL (English as a Second Language) volunteers assist non-English speaking adults improve their English communication skills. Volunteers teach basic through advanced formal classes in a friendly, fun environment. A curriculum and training are provided.
    (Monday thru Friday, 3 day or evening hours per week at Earl Hall or Graham-Windham Beacon Center.)

  • Citizenship Classes volunteers prepare immigrant adults for the citizenship process and test.
    (Saturdays, 2 hours per week at Graham-Windham Beacon Center.)

  • Computer Training volunteers teach formal classes and workshops covering basic word-processing, spreadsheets, and internet skills, to adult students.
    (Various days per week, 2 hours per week at Earl Hall or Graham-Windham Beacon Center.)

  • Individual Tutoring Volunteers help GED/ABE and ESL students achieve the skills necessary to pass the high school equivalency exam and speak better English. (Fridays, 2 hours per week at Earl Hall or Graham-Windham Beacon Center.)

  • College Road volunteers assist with college readiness workshops, college fairs, and counseling activities. Volunteers help adult education students develop career goals, conduct college searches, apply to college, and become better prepared to make the transition to college. (Monday thru Friday, at Earl Hall or Graham-Windham Beacon Center.)

  • Job Road volunteers assist with job readiness workshops, job fairs, counseling activities, and job placement that help adult education estudents develop career goals and become better prepared to make the transition to the workplace. (Monday thru Friday, Call to make appointment.)
