Call for CIBER Research Proposals

Each year, the Columbia CIBER awards grants to faculty members and doctoral students from Columbia Business School, the School of International and Public Affairs and the Economics and Political Science departments for summer research projects on international business topics. Proposals for this year are due to ciber@columbia.edu or in Uris Hall 212 by March 21st.

Emphasis will be given to:

· The need to collect data outside the U.S.
· Empirical research projects
· Projects with a business security focus
· A project where CIBER dollars will help to accomplish a project that couldn’t have been otherwise.

Proposals should include:
A maximum of three pages describing the purpose of your project, including title of the project.
A one page detailed budget and timeline for spending the funds
CV of author(s)
Contact information for all authors, including phone number, mailing address and email address.
A confirmation email will be sent upon receipt of your proposal. If you do not receive confirmation, please follow up to ensure the proposal has been received.

Funds may be used for data acquisition, computer software expenses, travel associated with research, and other legitimate purposes. Expenses must be submitted to the CIBER for reimbursement by August 31, 2008; funds not spent by that date will be lost. Resulting research papers included in the CIBER Working Paper Series may also be submitted to an academic journal for publication.

Please include a three page description of your project, a CV of researchers involved and a detailed budget. For a list of grant winners from previous years, please click here.
