Study Abroad
Overview
The Columbia CIBER provides students with opportunities to travel abroad to observe international business practices in action.
International Study Tours
International Study Tours allow Columbia Business School students, faculty advisors and staff members to visit companies, factories, government officials, entrepreneurs and journalists in a variety of countries. The experiential programming offers direct exposure to the managerial, political and cultural norms that shape business practices in other regions of the world.
Chazen MBA Exchange Program
For a longer international study experience, the Chazen MBA Exchange Program offers Columbia Business School students a chance to study at one of 24 leading graduate management institutions around the world. While overseas, students gain firsthand knowledge of another country’s business environment while enhancing their understanding of international business issues. The exchange program also gives students the opportunity to take courses that are not typically offered at Columbia.
Interstate Programme
Each year, one American MBA student from Columbia Business
School is invited to participate in the intimate Interstate
Programme in Europe. During this three-day international
business forum, students debate and discuss such timely topics
as corporate governance in the European Union. Business and
political leaders moderate the sessions, offering insights
based on their own experience. CIBER provides funding for
a Columbia student to attend this event.
The Interstate Programme takes place each June and student
participants are selected to attend through an application
process. Feedback from the 2007 participant to be posted soon.
