Member Levels
There are three levels of members in the Cigar Society:
Executive Board Members are the
highest level of members. They consist of a President, Vice President,
Treasurer, Secretary, and Internet Liason. Each are crucial to the
success of the club. The President and Vice President handle the
marketing of the club. They are responsible for attracting new members,
contacting and negotiating venues for events, and conducting meetings.
The Treasurer is responsible for the money of the club. They keep track
of all moneys spend on and generated through events, plus the money
recieved from the school each year. The Secretary is responsible for
keeping everything in order. Everything the President and Vice President
receive/send, goes through the Secretary. The Internet Liason is the
person in charge of all computer tasks. From campus wide e-mails to
updating the web page, if it has something to do with computers, the
Internet Liason handles it.
The only way to become a Executive Board Member is to be appointed by an
incumbant to be their successor, or to be picked by the Executive Board to
fill an opening. There is only one requirement to be picked for the
Executive Board, and that is the member must have achieved the level of
Officer.
Officers are the intermediate
between Executive Board Members and Members. Officers are people who
either want to be on the Executive Board or want to help the club, but
don't have time to be a board member. Anyone who helps with 3 events from
beginning to end in any given year will be given the title of Officer.
Helping out entails anything from planning to flyering to e-mailing to
working a booth or stand at an event. Officers have free admission to all
Society events and activities. As an added bonus, all Officers get a free
Society tee-shirt with officer printed on it.
Members are just people who enjoy
the Society. They have no responsibility except to have fun and bring as
many people as they can to the events and activities.
